During the early 1900s Shōun made several sets of woodblock prints with flower and (or) bird subjects. The largest set included about eighty prints. The twenty prints in this gallery were part of that set. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Each print in the set was vertically oriented, without picture borders and relatively small in size (i.e., 115 mm wide by 240 mm high). Despite their small size, most flowers and birds were drawn with sufficient accuracy to be easily identified by viewers familiar with common Japanese flowers and birds.
